COVID Diaries
Maybe it’s helpful, maybe it’s not, maybe you care, maybe you don’t.
What I know is that tracking performance helps performance and whilst you may be struggling to link “performance” and “COVID” that’s ok and perhaps a conversation for another time.
This is an account of what’s gone and is going down. It helps me and I hope at some stage it can help someone else. (My magic potion is at the bottom)

New PR, woke up and got up before 7!! Winning. And did a workout with more than just my bodyweight. This is allllllll good news right! Then at 11am boooooom the headache from hell comes to play, 2 hours and I am out of it. Wild.

Waking pulse: 33
Exercise: 40 mins. Used weight for the first time in 10 days

Waking pulse: 37
Exercise: 34 mins, broke sweat, it was good
Day 7
No headache, this is good! Bit achy still but feel there may be change in the air. Maybe it was due to my just shy of 12 hours sleep, or the fact that I got loads of client programming done yesterday.
Emirates have stopped flights to London, care, zero!
It’s Friday, there was Acai and a few hours sun in the garden and of course a BBQ.
Sleep: 11.5 hours night, 2 hours day

Medication: 3 x 200ml special potion, good green stuff.
Waking pulse: 33

Day 6
No real headache but lower right back pain remains, odd. Am I 7/10 or 8/10? Tough one, will leave it unanswered. Holly not feeling great, test for her, here we go. Goal today….client programs, feel like I can give them my focus, lets hope I can and don’t end up writing absolute carnage.

Day 5
Wanted 8/10, didn’t get it, that’s part of the process. Moved for 20 mins on my yoga mat, felt great. Today was challenging as far as mental focus goes. Gave 2 interviews and a motivational talk to over 300 people online.

Day 4
Woke up 7/10, goal for tomorrow is 8/10, we get this by finishing today 7/10. The headache and I are clearly going to be friends for a few days yet. Jigsaw puzzle arrived, playing it for too long makes me stiff. 4 hours of calls and 3 hours of programming could have been too much for the day!

Hydration: 4.5L water
Food: appetite 90% 3 meals
Medication: 3 x 200ml special potion, paracetamol at night, good green stuff.
Waking pulse: Figured we start monitoring this: 37
Day 3:
Woke up at 3:30am and fever is gone! Winning! An hour in the sun at lunchtime was nice, back pain has decided to leave me alone. Headache is like a fly that won’t go, just slightly annoying.

Hydration: 4.5L water
Food: Appetite 90%, 3 meals
Medication: 3 x 200ml special potion, paracetamol at night, good green stuff.
Waking pulse: Figured we start monitoring this: 37
Day 2:
May have gone down stairs at 3am to check if my COVID test result had been sent. It hadn’t, however when I woke up it was there, Positive! Headache and fever remain, lower back is stiff, is this due to sitting / sleeping all day? Who knows, the desire to do anything else is limited.
Time to bulletproof my immune system, the magic potion gets made, halfway through I feint in the kitchen, weird one but life!
Sleep: 10 hours at night, 2 hours afternoon nap
Hydration: 2.5L water
Food: Appetite 80%, 3 meals
Medication: 2 x 200ml special potion, paracetamol at night.
Day 1:
Woke not feeling 100%. Realized after a few hours that what I was feeling was not “normal”…headache and body tired so went for a COVID test.
Headache maintains through the day, fever starts in the afternoon, don’t have a temperature gauge, don’t really need one to know I’m hot, is this an ultra? Lets go on feel!
